Magni is the official engagement ceremony. The ceremony happens right after the imam zamin, where the groom's mother carries gifts and sweets to the bride's home. She also brings a gold or silver coin wrapped in a silk scarf which would be tied around the bride's hand. It is their way of welcoming the bride to the groom's family. Magni is the celebration where the brides and groom’s family, friends and relatives celebrate the forthcoming marriage. At the function, the bride and the groom exchange the rings in front of all the guests. Afterwards, their families and friends shower the blessings to the couples through sweets and beautiful gifts. Manjha
Manjha is similar to the Haldi ceremony. This ceremony is primarily performed in India only. Manjha is celebrated two days before the wedding. Here the bride and the groom will be dressed in yellow costumes. With the mix of turmeric, sandalwood and rose water, a paste is made, and this paste is applied over the bride's and groom's face, hand and feet. After this, they take bath in holy water. The couples are not supposed to leave their respective houses till the day of the wedding.
Mehendi
Mehendi happens in the evening before the wedding day. It's the evening when the hands and feet of the bride are decorated with henna. The groom's initials are hidden within the designs which are supposed to be found by the groom on the day of wedding.
Nikkah
The nikkah is the wedding day which is headed by Maulvi. It is a process where the women and men will be separately seated. After that, Maulvi starts the marriage by prayer and afterwards, he asks for the marriage consent from both the bride and the groom. It is known as Ijab-e-Qubool. During this, the couples are seated separately After the approval, they will sign a marriage contract to confirm the wedding.
